Local born Harpist Melody Tam, is the first Hong Kong harpist who won an International Music Competition. Melody was the laureate at the "Concours Francais De La Harpe 10 eme Edition" (highest category). In the 16th Osaka International Music Competition (Harp), She was awarded both "Gold Medal" & “Matsuo Hiroshi Award”. Afterwards, she was invited to give a recital in Japan and concerto in Hong Kong. Melody also obtained great results in The 5th Australian Harp Festival ( Adelaide ) "Alice Chalifoux Award".  She is the recipient of the "Hong Kong Friends of Harp" Scholarship.


Being highly involved in the international scene, Melody has participated in the VII & XI International Harp Master Academy as well as Gala Concert in Switzerland.  In 2012, she was honored to perform her new arrangement of harp ensemble pieces with well-known Ex-Royal Harpist Catrin Finch. A year later, She joined the influential harpist Judith Liber to play in the “ Concerto d’ arpa” concert in Italy. Moreover, Melody also gave a spectacular performance in the “The Fifth Hong Kong Harp
Festival 2014” and “Dutch Harp Festival 2016 “ in the Netherlands. Her performance was broadcasted by RTHK Radio 4 and RTHK TV program.


Melody is a founding member of the Hong Kong Harp Quartet (HKHQ). With HKHQ, She has done concert tours in The Netherlands, Italy, Korea, and France.

As Principal Harpist of Pan Asia Symphony Orchestra from 2009 until now, she also worked with Opera Hong Kong Orchestra, Macau Symphony Orchestra, Shenzhen
City Philharmonic, The Learners Orchestra, The SAR Philharmonic Orchestra, Hong Kong City Pops Orchestra, Hong Kong Band Directors Wind Orchestra and The
Hong Kong Symphonic Winds, MedArt Orchestra, Orchestra for Vienna x Hong Kong Festival.

As a soloist, Melody was invited to perform at many well-known family weddings and luxury brand events. She has performed in concert with America, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore Popstars, such as Connie Francis, Tamaki Kouji, Elisa Chan Kit Ling , George Lam Tsz Cheung, Hana Kuk Tsz Kiu, Shino Lin, and Kit Chan. She also participated in recording on Musical, Film music and Pop music.

In addition to her solo and orchestral endeavors, Melody is a passionate educator. She got a Postgraduate Diploma in Music Education from Baptist University. Most of
her Students got a Distinction on their ABRSM Exam. She has been coaching at the Harpy-Summer Academy since 2016.

Director

The director of the Hong Kong Harp Centre, graduated from the Arizona States University Master in Music, in Harp Performance in 2011. She was invited to be the instructor in Macau Youth Symphony Orchestra in 2011 and Kingston University (Hong Kong brand) in 2018. Pun is first one in town who introduce Suzuki Harp in Hong Kong and start children in harp playing in their very young age. She was also invited to perform in China, Italy, France, The Netherlands, Korea and locally with orchestra, or as a soloist.

Graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (Bachelor in Music, major in harp), is an active harpist in Hong Kong who performed with various orchestra and Opera, like . As a frequent prize winner, she received prizes at serval competitions included, like Young Musician of The Year (Finalist with Distinction Award) in 2015, International Harp Festival Harp Competition in Beijing Central Conservatory of Music (6th place with honourable mentioned).

Accomplished her Bachelor degree in Music (Piano) from the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts and obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Music Education in 2003. Later on, she starts her harp journey with different well-known harpists. After study with Ayako Shinosaki, Melody successfully becomes the laureate of the "Concours Francais De La Harpe 10 eme Edition" & won the 1st Prize in the "16th Osaka International Music Competition (Harp )". Melody has performed in Japan, Italy, France, The Netherlands, and Korea and was invited in perform Radio 4 and RTHK TV program. She has been coaching at the Harpy-Summer Academy since 2016.

Received her Master Degree in Harp Performance & Artist Diploma in Harp Performance in 2016 and 2018 respectively. As an active orchestral player she is the guest principal harpist of Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra, Tuscarawas Philharmonic Orchestra, Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra etc. During her studies in the States, she is the first prize winner of Darius Milhaud Performance Prize in 2017, Alice Chalifoux Prize in 2016 & 2018 etc. She returned to Hong Kong in JULY 2019 and wanted to share her knowledge with the young generation.

Cassy Ho

Cassy Ho is a holder of Grade 8 Harp of The Associated Board of the Royal School of Music. She started to learn harp at the age of thirteen. She studied harp with Juliana Beckel, an American Harpist and Edith Pun, an active Hong Kong harp performer. Cassy took part in master classes and private lessons with Karen Vaughan, Irina Zingg, Catherine Michel, Maria Luisa Rayan and Sylvain Blassel.
